  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add olive oil, salt, and Italian herbs to the yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add flour and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
  8. Shape each piece into a roll and place on a baking sheet.
  9. Let the rolls rise for another 20 minutes.
  10. Brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  11. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Let cool slightly before serving.
