  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm almond milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and melted coconut oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread melted coconut oil, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Cut the dough into strips, tie them into knots, and place on a baking sheet.
  9. Let the knots rise for another 20 minutes.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
