Ingredients

  • 2-3 lbs tri-tip roast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the tri-tip roast.
  4. Place the tri-tip on a roasting pan, fat side up.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
  7. Slice against the grain and serve.
