Delicious and spooky spider-themed cupcakes perfect for Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 can chocolate frosting
  • 12 chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 24 candy eyes
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  4. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
  6. Frost each cupcake with chocolate frosting.
  7. To create the spider, twist each chocolate sandwich cookie in half and place one half on top of the frosted cupcake.
  8. Insert pretzel sticks into the sides of the cookie to form the spider legs.
  9. Finish by placing two candy eyes on top of the cookie half to complete the spider look.

Notes

  • For a fun variation, use vanilla cake mix and white frosting.
  • Make sure to use gluten-free cake mix if needed.
  • Store cupcakes in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
