- 2 cups sourdough discard
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 large egg
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
- In a large bowl, combine sourdough discard, milk, sugar, melted butter, and egg.
- In another bowl, mix flour, instant yeast, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread with softened butter.
- Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar over the buttered dough, and add raisins if desired.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
