A simple and delicious no-knead bread infused with jalapeños and cheddar cheese, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Fold in the cheddar cheese and jalapeños until evenly distributed.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat up.
  6. Once the dough has risen, turn it out onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
  7. Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, place the dough inside, and cover with the lid.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes covered, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

  • For a spicier bread, add more jalapeños.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
  • This bread is best enjoyed fresh but can be toasted later.
