A delicious and juicy Wisconsin butter burger recipe perfect for summer grilling.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce, tomato, and onion for toppings

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and pepper.
  3. Form the beef into 4 patties.
  4. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty.
  5. Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  6. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty.
  7. Remove the patties from the grill and top each with a tablespoon of softened butter.
  8. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
  9. Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, onion, and the buttered patties.
