  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Fill each cupcake liner halfway with the batter.
  5. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth, then add powdered sugar and heavy cream, mixing until creamy.
  6. Drop a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each cupcake batter.
  7. Top with more cupcake batter to cover the filling.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before serving.
