  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate chips and butter together in a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, salt, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Sift in the cocoa powder and fold until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes or until the cake has set and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
