Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish.
  3. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated.
  4. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  6. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade.
  7. Grill the steak for about 6-8 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.
  8. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain.
