A delicious and easy-to-make garlic bread focaccia that is perfect as an appetizer or side dish.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, olive oil, salt, oregano, and black pepper to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Once risen, punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet.
  7. Make dimples in the dough with your fingers and drizzle with olive oil.
  8. Sprinkle minced garlic and additional herbs on top.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a stronger garlic flavor, increase the amount of minced garlic.
