Christmas Oreo Truffles are a delightful and festive treat made with crushed Oreos and cream cheese, coated in chocolate and decorated for the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of Oreo cookies (approximately 36 cookies)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 16 oz chocolate (milk or dark, for coating)
  • Sprinkles or crushed candy canes for decoration

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing them with a rolling pin.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese until well blended.
  3. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill the truffles in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. While the truffles are chilling, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler.
  6. Once the truffles are firm, dip each one into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated.
  7. Place the coated truffles back on the parchment paper and immediately sprinkle with decorations like sprinkles or crushed candy canes.
  8. Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.

Notes

  • For a different flavor, try using flavored Oreos or adding peppermint extract to the cream cheese mixture.
  • Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • These truffles make great gifts during the holiday season!
