- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Mix in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined.
- Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer.
- Drop spoonfuls of cherry pie filling over the cream cheese layer.
- Spread the remaining brownie batter on top of the cherries.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.
