A delicious and creamy dessert made with fresh bananas, a rich custard filling, and a flaky pie crust, topped with whipped cream.

  • 1 pre-baked pie crust
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
  2. Gradually add milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks and temper with a bit of the hot mixture, then return to the saucepan.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and cook for another minute.
  5. Slice bananas and layer them in the pie crust.
  6. Pour the custard over the bananas and let it cool.
  7. Whip the heavy cream and spread it over the cooled pie.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
